The Singapore education landscape have changed dramatically over the past decade. Emphasis is now less on academic excellence, and more on wholesome development and a broader definition of success. The school system now offer multiple pathways to attain excellence, catering to various needs, interest and passion of today’s young minds. To what extent have Malay youths realized and embraced these changes ? In what ways have they benefited from it ? How will these eventually prepare them for the demands from the new economic landscape ? And are there still impediments to the mindset change needed to navigate the new opportunities ? Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Dr Faishal Ibrahim will elaborate on some of these key themes as he & the other panelists engage Malay youths invited for the discussion.
