Animal assisted therapy is helping the elderly with dementia, those with special needs, and at-risk youth - but in the case of the charity EQUAL, it's also offering a second chance at life to out-of-work horses and jockeys. Some 300 horses in Singapore face an uncertain fate every year, when they get too old to continue as racehorses, riding school mounts, polo horses or show jumpers. Some have found a new home at EQUAL, where former jockeys like Shamri help to turn them into therapy horses.
