Malaysia has one of the highest rate of deforestation in the world, and Kelantan is the worst hit. The biggest Orang Asli tribe, the Temiar people, are seeing their homes and livelihood being destroyed by state-approved logging companies. Failing to get a response from the state for their plight, they are resorting to setting up blockades to obstruct logging companies. GET REAL looks at the contest for the forest between the indigeneous inhabitants and the state government, and why experts believe the environmental consequences of excessive logging could spell disaster not just for the Temiar tribe, but for the entire state of Kelantan.
