In 2010, while their college mates were out enjoying the student life, engineering majors Yukka Harlanda and his best friend Utak doubled down on something that was completely unrelated to their academic life - building locally - made shoe brand, Brodo. They operated out of their dorm rooms at first and envisioned an online platform that wasn't just transactional but a way to connect their brand to customers. Today, Brodo is one of the most successful shoe companies in Indonesia selling 120,000 shoes annually and the founders have bigger dreams ahead.
