How is Singapore home to you ? On the Red Dot explores the question through three local filmmakers, Meng Ong, Sanif Olek and Ang Geck Geck. They’ve each been given only four days to shoot and edit a short film. Follow each filmmaker as they struggle with their scripts, audition actors and cope with unexpected challenges on set, to realise their vision of how Singapore is home to them. The second episode of this 3 - part series features Sanif Olek, whose feature film was selected as Singapore’s entry for the 2015 Oscars. His short film for On The Red Dot, “Homecoming”, is about a man who returns home from prison after 16 years, and finds himself struggling to come to terms with a world that has passed him by. It’s a tale of last chances – the prodigal son’s search for redemption.
