On the Red Dot turns the spotlight on jobs in Singapore in its second season of “Work In Progress”. The four-part series zooms in on a different sector each week and takes viewers behind the scenes to discover surprising facts about a job. Come and experience a day-in-the-life of individuals working in Entertainment, Health, Animal welfare & employment for those with special needs. This week we go behind the scenes of the special needs sector. We meet with job coaches who bridge their special needs clients with potential employers. They go the extra mile to ensure that the new job’s social and physical environment suits their client. We shadow Galvin Sandhu’s client, who has Down Syndrome, to see how he has been moulded into a confident, independent worker. We also meet with Elizabeth Chua, an Employment Support Specialist to understand how job coaches make the difference. Finally, we follow polio-sufferer Premchand Shahri on his tireless journey to find a job despite the obstacles that stood in his way.
