Sandakan is the second largest city in Sabah after Kota Kinabalu. The historic town was the capital of British North Borneo, and is sprinkled with many interesting ruins and relics from its former glory. We will visit Masjid Jamek, one of the oldest mosques in Sandakan. We then venture to the wilderness of Labuk Bay sanctuary to see how the workers there observe Ramadan in the midst of the fascinating proboscis monkeys - an endangered species, native to Borneo.
