Ofo, oBike, Mobike and now Sg Bikes – the bike sharing economy is growing in Singapore with some 30,000 two-wheelers deployed across the island. But the business model of these dockless bicycles, built on the premise of convenience for users, has also resulted in widespread indiscriminate parking. Bikes have been spotted along footpaths, blocking corridors and even in lifts. This week on Talking Point, we try out bike sharing and ask if the industry needs to be regulated.
