“Oddballs” looks at four young people who have chosen to follow their hearts and live unusual lives. We explore the challenges they face and the sacrifices they make to succeed in their chosen paths in Singapore. This four - part series kicks off with Alexius Yeo, whose fascination with plants earned him the nickname “tree hugger” when he was a young boy. As he grew up, he dreamed of becoming a gardener and working closely with nature. But defying the objections of his family, Alexius renounced the comforts of living and working in Singapore to volunteer as a planter in a village in the Philippines. But the young altruist gets a wake - up call from life and makes a decision that will change his relationship with plants and the lives of the people around him.
